We are located on the eastern slopes of Vardousia mountains, at an altitude of 800 metres, near the southern edge of the mountain. The area seems to be inhabited from the ancient years, because it is located on the edge of Dryopida, birthplace of the Dorians. The dense forest of oaks and firs was limited by human factors over the years for the necessary crops, when the first vines occurred.
Because of our love for the place and in order to save the greek grape varieties, since 1998 we have reconstructed and cultivated a few acres of organic varieties such as “gousmadi, mavroudi, kokkinara and asprouda”. Our ambition is to produce a product with an environmentally friendly manner in a virgin environment‚ of forgotten Greek varieties, which we will take care of, every year.
We grow organically with certification by the organization DIO since 1998.
We create a small number of bottles every year. We make red wine using our long experience, taking advantage of low temperature fermentation, the microclimate of the area in the maturation and harvesting and the natural materials. Our wine before bottling, remains for at least six months in oak barrels for enrichment with tannins and aromas of wood and then is bottled and aged in the bottles in order to highlight its characteristics.
