Coffee Island stores are celebrating World Coffee Day on Sunday, October 1, and taking consumers on a day trip to the most unique Single Estate destination, Costa Rica Tarrazu. It gives coffee lovers the opportunity to taste, at no extra charge, the unique Single Estate known for its long fruit aftertaste and full body. This is a guest coffee that will steal the show and will be available in physical stores and on My Coffee Island APP+WEB.

Tarrazu is known as the birthplace of Costa Rican coffee and world renowned for producing some of the best coffees.

In 1969 the three brothers of the Vindas family, Eduardo, Leonel & Gerardo, started the first coffee farming on the slopes of Mount Takuatori where no one had previously attempted. They were convinced that the volcanic soil, combined with the dry climate thanks to the Pacific Ocean, was ideal for coffee production and the cultivation of Caturra and Catuai coffee tree varieties. These two red varieties, combined with the Honey processing method, give the coffee its distinctive sweetness.

This year’s World Coffee Day is dedicated to promoting the right to a safe and healthy working environment in the coffee supply chain. The Coffee Island team is putting on their holiday gear and traveling by charter flight to Costa Rica, where a unique coffee is grown that will take you on a journey with the smells of apricot, brown sugar and cashew. Coffee Experts, through Direct Trade, has established mutually beneficial relationships with the Vindas family of producers from the Tarrazu region. With dedication, they work every day to help ensure and improve the working conditions of the entire pride and #CoffeePeople chain, as well as environmental sustainability.
