In Santorini, at the beginning of the 20th century, the grow of tomato was very common, as long as 14 tomato pulp factories were operating. The last decades the tomato grow becomes less and smaller. So, Petros Economou following the history of tomato in the island and affected of the great quality of the product, started experimenting with this cultivation in 1997. He achieved to produce successfully the organic tomato pulp of Santorini, which became famous quickly. The product won many awards, and the organically cultivated land expanded to 40 acres.
